“… you may not be able to participate in the project due to your age”… I realise you’re also writing about skill sets and growth but, once again, your post positively reeks of ageism. You insist on pointing out (in fact, labelling this person with) their age.

What do you know of the career of the 60-year old? What other skills might they bring (or just recently have brought) to a team?

It is quite possible that you—and I’ll label you “younger engineer”, as you love labels—might not realise what the 60-year old’s value is?

Please write about skills. You have good points to make. But drop the ageism.
